Authorities to take deep view of gold mine death
The Western Australian Department of Mines and Petroleum has launched an investigation after a fatal incident at the Cornishman Pit gold mine, about 400 kilometres east of Perth.
A miner was reportedly killed at the mine operated by Chinese firm Hanking Gold Mining on Sunday.
Reports say the worker was driving a truck when it rolled. Nearby workers tried to revive the man, but failed. No other injuries were reported.
The Western Australia DMP says it is looking into the incident to determine the cause of the fatal mishap.
