Due to ongoing work and growth within our business, Mac Hort has additional opportunities for people to join our team.  

Mac Hort provides contracting services in the environmental and horticultural sectors, including parks and gardens, bushland and conservation areas, roadside vegetation management and tree work. The role involves a range of horticultural and environmental services for predominantly local and state government clients.

We are looking for both experienced candidates and will also consider those requiring training. 

As a Team Member within Mac Hort you will be able to work within a team and also unsupervised to carry out horticultural activities within large scale parks and gardens, environmental works within conservations areas and also roadsides. Utilising equipment such as a zero turn mower, hedge trimmers, brush cutters, chainsaws, blowers, weed sprayers and also be able to work within a chipper crew for tree work.

We work across sites within the Fleurieu Peninsula and offer a diverse range of services which brings variation into every single workday. 

Licences and attributes that will be highly regarded include:

• Full pest management technician’s licence. ‘Weed Control’
• Chainsaw use accreditation
• MR truck licence
• Current Work Zone traffic management accreditation
• Current First Aid.
• Demonstrated experience in any of the following - environmental contracting, parks and gardens maintenance or arboriculture.
• A strong emphasis on safety.
• Ability to work unsupervised and also within a team environment.

We are based at Port Elliot and work throughout the Fleurieu Peninsula. We also work an 8 day fortnight which provides greater work life balance. 

Full time position available for candidates with experience and licence/tickets for weed spraying and chainsaw use. 

Full time casual positions are also available for candidates looking to progress their career in this industry but are yet to become accredited.
