Aquaculture Technician - Paddlewheel Team

 

In your new role as a Paddlewheel Technician, you will be servicing and maintaining our paddlewheels to ensure our prawns get plenty of oxygen. You’ll be capable of lifting heavy objects and you’ll be happy to get in and out of the water.

Proserpine: Located on our prawn farm halfway between Airlie Beach and Bowen, you’ll work in a stunning area. And you’ll be working on our 2/2/3 roster so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy everything the Whitsundays have to offer! You will be working from 6am – 6pm.

What does your week look like?

Maintenance: servicing and maintenance of paddlewheels to ensure prawns get plenty of oxygen.

Routine Checks: Ensure routine and responsive paddlewheel checks are completed, monitored, and reported, as per aeration procedure.

Cleaning: Cleaning paddlewheels regularly to meet operational requirements.

Can Do – Safely: Ensuring all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.

General Tasks: Supporting with any other tasks and jobs that come up on the farm.

What can you bring?

Any aquaculture/ agriculture experience is highly desirable but not essential. A driver’s licence is essential in this role. You will have some basic technology skills as our jobs will all come through via an iPad.
