Land Information Group - Survey
This vacancy may be available in either Darwin or Alice Springs subject to negotiation with the successful applicant; however initial employment will be based in Darwin for up to 18 months.
One vacancy is available and selection for Professional 2 level will be fixed for 12 months.

• Provision of advice and services on land survey infrastructure and systems, digital cadastres, land developments, including relevant standards, and practices.
• Undertake land boundary and infrastructure surveys; including analysis and adjustment of survey information.
• Maintain the integrity of land survey records, datasets, spatial systems and infrastructure.

Apply your practical knowledge and operational experience in land survey, land administration or development to provide timely advice and services on related matters.

The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) was established in 2016 to bring together many of the key functions that drive land use, infrastructure and transport. The Agency aims to drive the sustainable, economic and social advancement of the Northern Territory through land use and transport planning, infrastructure investment and effective logistics supply chains. As a Surveyor perform survey and geospatial services to maintain the Territory’s spatial information systems and infrastructure, which support the administration of the land surveying framework and development of land. Applying your communication skills you will also be responsible for preparing a range of correspondence and reports, developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships, and supporting the implementation of initiatives and new policies.

To be successful you require demonstrated technical capability in surveying, knowledge of land surveying legislation and project management, as well as using and maintain survey or geospatial information applications, databases or systems. You will also need the ability to interactive effectively in a team, and with a range of people from diverse backgrounds.
